Artifex London was established in 2000 and has operated as Artifex London Limited since May 2002. The company was founded by Ben Galloway. Ben studied three-dimensional design at The Surrey Institute of Design. There he attained a thorough understanding of metal manufacturing processes, undertook a year's research on post-modern architecture and design and graduated in 1990. Since 1996 he has been employed in the design sector, specialising in furniture design and interior design. In 2000, he originated the concept of Glass Inlaid Marble and has been responsible for its product development ever since. Ben designs much of the new furniture offered by the company and may be consulted by clients wishing to commission new pieces.

Artifex London has rapidly established a reputation as one of the foremost suppliers of quality wrought-iron furniture and has helped furnish the homes, gardens and conservatories of many customers in the UK and abroad, including a number of celebrity clients. The company's Spanish terracotta mosaic table tops are a trademark product as are its Italian travertine table tops, recognisable by their attractive honed finish.
